Why Vitamin C is Vital for Weight Loss

So now that you're rolling forward with your weight loss program, you'll need all the information you can get your hands on to succeed.

Along  with the exercises, you need to ensure that your diet plans are well researched and correctly tailored towards your weight loss goals.

In this article we will look at Vitamin C, which is an essential component of any weight loss diet plan.

Vitamin C is contained in citrus fruits and some vegetables. Their inclusion in your weight loss diet plans will help you achieve a healthy weight loss goal.

Use Fruits Rich in Vitamin C

Recent studies suggest that you will be more successful with your weight loss if you will eat more fresh citrus and some vegetables and fruits that are rich in Vitamin C. It does not mean that Vitamin C is the new wonder drug for weight loss, but experts have discovered that consuming an insufficient amount of Vitamin C may hinder one's efforts to lose weight. You may actually find yourself losing weight unhealthily.

Getting to Know More about Vitamin C

Vitamin C is not just helpful in fighting colds. If you need to lose weight for whatever reasons, this vitamin can actually help you. Did you know that fruits that are high in Vitamin C can let you burn more fats?

Vitamin C is also involved in many bodily functions including the proper functioning of the immune system, formation of callogen, absorption of iron, maintenance of cartilage, bone's and teeth, and wound healing.

 What Is Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is also referred to as an ascorbic acid. It’s a water-soluble vitamin with an antioxidant function in one’s body. This simply means that this neutralizes free radicals, which can cause damage to cells.

Vitamins that are water-soluble are not stored in one’s body, nor does the human body produce Vitamins. Because of this, you need to consider taking a fresh supply of these every day.

Otherwise, you will be at risk of developing a deficiency that can lead to some health issues over time. Because of the fact that one’s body does not have the capability of producing Vitamin C, it is important to ensure that you take this nutrient adequately.

According  to studies by experts, consuming too much Vitamin C is not harmful, however overconsumption of it in one instance, such as in a day, can cause Diarrhea and Nausea.

In my personal experience, living in a country where there are varieties and tons of surplus in home grown citrus fruits like oranges available almost everywhere, I sometimes consume so many oranges that I start producing bad smells like fart through the mouth. At the same time have Diarrhea and nausea. So it isn't wise to consume too many citrus fruits in a day. It's best to take an adequate amount each day.

The recommended daily dosage for adults is 65mg to 90milligrams. And the upper limit is 2000mg a day. Try to keep your consumption of citrus fruits within this range.

Some Good Sources of Vitamin C

  • blackcurrants

  • broccoli

  • Brussels sprouts

  • Citrus fruits, such as Oranges and orange juice

  • peppers

  • potatoes

  • Strawberries

These will be available at your local grocery stores, or you could grow them in your own backyard. If you come from a country where subsistence farming is practiced, you could grow them somewhere in your food garden.

Vitamin C and Weight Loss

If you consider juicing recipes for your weight loss, you will get best results if you will include fruits that are rich in Vitamin C.

Researchers are searching for fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C that can increase your rate of burning fats during exercise. So, make sure to eat some and use them for your juicing recipes.  You can consider any fruits that are rich in Vitamin C. If you don’t have any idea which one is best suited for your weight loss journey, then ask for assistance from experts such as a physician. Another way to do this is by posting your questions on forum sites like Quora, ask.com or on health related Facebook groups. There literally thousands of sites on the internet that you can utilize to find answers.

Also, if you have allergies on some fruits, better consult your physician and ask for an advice about the right fruits that you can use.

Conclusion

Including Vitamin C in your diet plans is essential if you want to lose weight healthily. Consuming insufficient amounts can cause health deficiencies in the long term. Keep in mind to use online resources like forums, Facebook groups and others to be well informed about your weight loss journey.

As always, stay focused, motivated and committed to your weight loss plan, and believe in yourself that you can do it.
