Even if you're not into weight loss, improving your physique through physical fitness programs or any of these stuff that most people nowadays are so into, you still need to maintain a healthy body. 


Nowadays, due to the huge leap in technology, every aspect of human development has reached a level never thought possible a few decades ago. Within these advancements, the evolution  of food technology has somehow influenced millions of people worldwide. Many people, because of their busy schedules, resort to consuming the unhealthy but readily available fast food and processed foods. 


In this article, we will cover the concept of Healthy Nutrition to some extent. 


Healthy Nutrition and Its Benefits


A healthy nutrition is vital to living a healthy lifestyle. Lets start by breaking down Healthy Nutrition and its Benefits into the following three points;

  •  Guidelines for proper and healthy nutritional food



Many healthy lifestyle advocates say that to have a healthy body you need healthy nutrition. And that's true. But we need to know the actual meaning of healthy nutrition, and why it is important because this can encourage and motivate us to lead a healthy lifestyle. 


Let’s begin by defining nutrition. 

“Nutrition is the process of giving your body all the important and necessary elements which can help it to grow in a proper and balanced way.”

In plain language, this definition simply means that if you want your body to grow in a better way, you need to eat proper food and follow a proper diet plan. 


When you follow a healthy nutrition plan, your body will become stronger, grow healthier and repair itself while an unhealthy nutrition plan can make your body weaker. Also,  your body will not be able to fight against certain minor diseases. 


Understanding Nutrition


There are three things which can tell you the importance and purpose of Nutrition. 


  • You have a body (unless if you're a bot reading this, hehe!).


  • Body needs vital elements to nourish and grow. 


  • Nutrition includes all those things which can help your body to grow. 


So with this understanding, the actual relationship of food and nutrition becomes clear. Food and nutrition are not the same things. There are some differences that exist between them.


Every food that you can think of, do not have the same amount of nutrients. They have varying amounts or degree of nutrients. Some contain high amounts while other food items may contain lower  amounts or none at all. 


In general, you will find that natural foods contain more nutrition than processed foods including fast foods. For example an apple, freshly harvested from the garden, can provide your body lots more nutrition than a doughnut. 


Interestingly, when an apple is absorbed into your system, it breaks down in substance and your body uses this for growth and blood production. But when you eat a doughnut, your digestive system will say "hmm, I don't need much of this stuff, so either throw it away or store it somewhere."


Relationship between Food, Health And Nutrition

Food, health and nutrition are all very closely related. The food which you eat can be either full of nutrition or it can be without any nutrition. The nutrition which you provide to your body affects your health directly. The  basic goal of everyone should be to improve their health. For this to happen, you must provide enough and adequate amount of nutrition to your body and especially for your physical health and fitness. 


There are four categories in nutrition which your body always need in adequate amounts. These four categories are:


  • protein, 

  • fat, 

  • carbohydrate and 

  • vitamins. 


You need to make sure that the food which you are eating contains necessary amount of these elements


If you observe all processed food, you will come  to realize that all of these are labeled with their nutrition values and that these labels are there for you to make an informed choice about your nutritional needs. 


3 Guidelines for Proper And Healthy Nutritional Food


In order to provide your body with proper nutritional elements, you need to follow these three very simple food guidelines. They will help you to make better choice of food. You should have a general idea of healthy and 

unhealthy food in first place and this idea will allow you to choose healthier food without going through lists of food items. Every food which can be metabolized, simply means that it can be converted into substance which is needed to grow can be categorized as healthy food. 


You can make a measuring foot which can tell you the health value of a particular food item. Make it in three parts as shown below;


  1. Foods which are totally processed and baked as these foods have almost zero natural elements in them like doughnuts, fast food and other similar items. These foods have absolute nutritional value and in most of the cases they are found to be harmful for your body. 


  1. Some foods which are cooked with natural ingredients like meat, chicken, vegetables and similar other items, are nutritional to some extent because they contain natural elements and you can add these food items in your regular diet. 


  1. All food items which are totally natural and have no preservatives and other similar things added like fruits, fresh juice, milk and other similar items. These are the items which carry most nutritional value.

Awareness about food and it's nutritional value is vital so that you make informed choices. Without understanding these concepts, you can mess up your health and end up in the wrong direction.
